Global engagement gives students an opportunity to learn about different cultures. It teaches students to accept different people, and to learn to work with different people. Global engagement also helps students get involved in helping the countries that are less fortunate. For instance, students can help with the water problems in the third world countries. Students that get globally engaged can help those countries. Moreover, global engagement would help decrease the number of diseases and deaths because the water is not clean.
In order to become globally engaged, students do not have to go to a different country. They can learn more if they go to a different country for school or a vacation, but if they cannot afford to go, they can still get globally engaged. Being globally engaged benefits students in many ways no matter what they are studying. Anthony Rock said, “Whether you are studying international affairs or nursing or education, business, environment, any discipline will involve global comparison and global engagement. Even if you’re undecided today, you can be assured that global issues will impact you in the future.”
Global engagement gives students an opportunity to understand other people’s decisions. Anthony Rock said, “You’ll want to understand and appreciate the variety of contributions that people make from a range of societies in what is a globally dynamic, knowledge-based community.” By experiencing global engagement, students experience many new things that they didn’t expect. Students would learn to appreciate other people and their cultures through the experience that they gain.

I agree with you Sladjana that a person doesn't need to visit another country if they can't afford but there's things a person can do locally to get the feeling of different cultures.
Take Phoenix for an example. My TEL 212 professor (Multi-culture class) said to us..."Go out and eat at a new restaurant of a different culture. Order something that you have never tried before. Look at the way the restaurant decorated their facility. Get to learn how different cultures pride themselves, just by visiting a place like a cultural theme restaurant or place...you will get to learn a little how different cultures work" I agree with my professor's statement because if one isn't able to visit another country, they can at least see some of the cultural difference between people.
As you said, I agree that you do not have to travel to a different country to understand culture and become globally engaged. Just enrolling in a foreign language course or a club will help expand your knowledge.
Us as students in a business major can plan to work with people of different cultures and backrounds and global engagement definitely will allow us to do this with more ease.
It is so true, by just walking outside our own doors there are so many options for us to become globally engage. We just need to have an open mind set and be willing to put ourselves out there.
I agree that working with people with different ethniciteis will help us in the future. TYhis is because you gain knowledge of them from a different culture right?
I agree that we do not always have to travel in order to learn about other cultures. Here at ASU are so many different people who come from a different place and whom we can get to know them and learn about their culture.
It's good to see that more and more young people are becoming engaged in the world because what happens today around our planet can affect us in the future.
Very nice work on blogging! Rich, thoughtful, well-documented reflections.
Tip for future: think of new ways to say Person A said...
ex:
According to Person A,
Person A makes the case that,
In Person A (2008), the claim was made that...
creates variety in your writing.
